Personal training is the best way to train! Let us design a program for you and lead you through it. We make it easy for people to be successful. Guided goal setting, custom program design and a challenging workout with an energetic and attentive trainer. Our trainers have a background in Kinesiology, the study of how the body moves. We take a functional approach to training that breaks down like this:

Our Process

The First Step
In designing your workout program, we start with a movement analysis. It is critical to determine how well you can do specific movements, like a squat. It is also useful to have a look at your posture, you just sat up a little taller didn’t you? We want to find opportunities to help you move better. Before we load on the weight, we may do some corrective exercises or movement learning to help you master the technique.

Building a Base Level of Strength
Now the fun starts. Once you are able to perform exercises with good technique, we focus on building a base level of strength. This doesn’t mean heavy lifting. This mean lifting fairly light weights or your own body weight and gradually building up. How much time we spend building up strength depends on your goals. However, it is important for everyone to build a base level of strength before we can move on the the 3rd component.

Energy and Power
This component of training is higher intensity. We are working on the aerobic or anaerobic energy system. Generally, this means doing exercises faster. This component also includes running, walking, cycling.

You won’t necessarily move through this in order. Most people when they come in can work on energy and power at least for a few movements (like cycling and walking up hill). Usually, there are some strength exercises that we start with on day 1. For almost everyone, there are some corrective exercises, or technique mastery exercises that they will benefit from working on.
