I often get asked what I eat. So I put together a couple videos about my favourite foods. This is my breakfast smoothie and my kind of pasta.
Gluten free is becoming very popular. Unfortunately, a lot of products labeled “gluten free” are not healthy. You can get empty carbohydrates from a number of sources, not just wheat. These are two common trouble spots for people 1) Breakfast and 2) Pasta.
The dried pasta you buy at a store is simply never going to compete with a fresh plant. Fresh veggies are essential. Here is how we make pasta with a spaghetti squash.
Make sure to catch the outtakes at the end. I had a serious time trying to cut that squash. Fast forward doesn’t make it any less embarrassing.
I have this smoothie 6 days per week. I like to keep it consistent so that I don’t spend any time thinking about what to eat in the morning. I just get up and get moving. Sometimes I eat this on the bus or sky train and get funny looks… whatever.
A handful of greens- In this video I used a power greens mix. I sometimes use kale or spinach.
A cup of Almond Milk
2 Tablespoons of Hemp Hearts
One 30 gram scoop of whey protein (see how to pick a whey protein powder)
1/3 of a banana
There are a few choices for blenders. I have been using a NutriBullet for quite some time. I find it really useful and I have not yet justified spending hundreds of dollars on a super powered blender. Check out the NutriBullet on Amazon (affiliate link)
